On May 7, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Management held the 2024 inspection mobilization and deployment meeting for the ministry system, deeply studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on the Party's self-revolution and his important speeches on inspection work, earnestly implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the deployment of the national inspection work conference. The meeting unified the mobilization and deployment of inspection work for the Ministry of Emergency Management, the National Fire and Rescue Administration, the National Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, and the Party Committees (Party Groups) of the China Earthquake Administration. It was decided to establish 17 inspection teams to carry out routine inspections of 27 units. Wang Xiangxi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry, Minister, and Leader of the Inspection Work Leading Group, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Wang Xiangxi pointed out that inspection is a strategic institutional arrangement to promote the Party's self-revolution and comprehensively enforce strict Party governance. It is necessary to deeply understand the new deployments and requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Party Central Committee regarding inspection work, fully implement the newly revised "Regulations on the Inspection Work of the Communist Party of China," and provide strong political inspection guarantees for the high-quality development of emergency management. To highlight the fundamental task of "Two Upholds," focusing on advancing political supervision to be specific, precise, and normalized; To strengthen the responsibility implementation for inspection rectification, establish a responsibility system and institutional process covering the entire cycle of inspection rectification, and demonstrate the role of the inspection sword through effective rectification; To enhance coordination and joint promotion with supervision such as discipline inspection, organization, audit, finance and accounting, statistics, and petition, to tightly weave a dense supervision network; To adhere to rules, discipline, and law, effectively applying strict standards and requirements throughout all aspects and the entire process of inspection work.

Wang Xiangxi emphasized, To focus on the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Party and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and directives on emergency management implementation, deeply understand issues of insufficient political ability and inadequate political responsibility; To focus on advancing Party conduct and clean government construction and the anti-corruption struggle, deeply understand issues of inadequate implementation of main responsibility and supervisory responsibility; To focus on personnel selection and cadre talent team building, deeply understand issues such as inadequate implementation of Party management of talents, improper personnel practices, lax daily management of cadres, and insufficient role of grassroots Party organizations as fighting fortresses; To focus on inspection rectification and results application, deeply understand issues such as insufficient sustained efforts in rectifying problems raised by inspection feedback and audit transfers, and imperfect long-term rectification mechanisms.

Wang Xiangxi emphasized that this round of inspection is the first inspection carried out by the ministry system after the promulgation of the newly revised inspection work regulations, with strong political, policy, and exemplary leadership characteristics. It is necessary to strengthen political study, enhance organizational leadership and overall coordination, strictly enforce discipline and work style, and steadily and orderly advance each stage of work to ensure the successful completion of inspection tasks.

Pu Yufei, member of the Party Committee of the Ministry and head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group stationed in the Ministry, announced the authorization and task division decisions for each inspection team in the ministry system. Hao Junhui, member of the Party Committee and Director of the Political Department, presided over the meeting. Party Committee members Zhou Tian, Huang Jinsheng, Wang Kun, members of the Inspection Work Leading Group, all members of the inspection teams, and leadership team members of the units being inspected in this round attended the meeting at the main venue and various sub-venues respectively.
