[Green Development] China Accelerates the Leapfrog Development of Clean Energy

As green and low-carbon energy, clean energy is an important part of China's energy supply system. It plays a significant role in improving the energy structure, protecting the ecological environment, addressing climate change, and achieving sustainable economic and social development. At the 2021 China International Clean Energy Expo and Comprehensive Energy Service Industry Expo, industry experts expressed that under the background of carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, China's clean energy industry is expected to achieve leapfrog development and make positive contributions to international cooperation on climate change.

China's clean energy industry ranks first in the world in terms of development and utilization scale. By the end of 2020, China's installed capacity of renewable energy power generation reached 9.3 trillion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 24.4% of the total installed capacity. Among them, hydropower was 370 million kilowatts, wind power 280 million kilowatts, photovoltaic 250 million kilowatts, biomass power generation 29.5 million kilowatts. Renewable energy power generation reached 2.2 trillion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 29.5% of the total social electricity consumption.

Guo Zhi, Chief Economist of the National Energy Administration, stated that as the world's largest clean energy market and equipment manufacturer, China's hydropower business spans many countries and regions worldwide, and the photovoltaic industry provides over 70% of components for the global market. The widespread application of clean energy equipment in the market has strongly promoted the reduction of clean energy costs, further advancing the development and utilization of clean energy worldwide and accelerating the global energy green transition process. "During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the National Energy Administration will coordinate energy supply security and energy transition, guide the healthy and coordinated development of the clean energy industry and equipment manufacturing industry chain, and provide sufficient and reliable clean energy guarantees for building a socialist modern country."

"Even under the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, global new energy demand continues to grow steadily," said Wang Guiqing, Vice President of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products. In 2020, the global newly installed photovoltaic capacity was 130 GW, a year-on-year increase of 13%. Newly installed wind power capacity was 93 GW, a year-on-year increase of 53%. The steady recovery of the global economy will further promote the development of new energy. Regarding wind power, after stable installation volumes in the past three years, installation speed will accelerate starting in 2024. Photovoltaic demand will grow at a faster pace, with global demand expected to exceed 180 GW this year.

Wang Guiqing frankly stated that in global climate change governance, China's new energy industry will play a huge and sustained role. China ranks first in the world in wind power production and installed capacity and has formed a complete industrial chain for wind power equipment. Leading enterprises in China's wind power industry have the capability to compete with world-leading companies. "China's new energy industry is the most powerful industry providing industrial support through the entire industrial chain for China's participation in global climate governance. At the same time, Chinese new energy companies bear great responsibility to provide high-quality products and equipment while offering high-level energy solutions to the world, especially developing countries, along with comprehensive services including investment, construction, operation, financing, and insurance."

Energy Management System (Management System for Energy), abbreviated as EnMS. The international standard for energy management systems is ISO 50000, among which ISO 50001 is the main standard for energy management system certification, equivalent to the national standard GB/T 23331. By establishing the GB/T 23331 energy management system, enterprises can strengthen energy management, reduce energy consumption; effectively save and rationally utilize resources; improve energy utilization efficiency, promote the achievement of energy-saving and emission reduction goals; reduce production (service) operating costs, improve economic benefits, and maintain competitiveness.

Energy Utilization Diagnostic Technology Service Based on system energy-saving theory, it provides comprehensive and systematic diagnosis and analysis of the overall energy consumption of enterprises, process energy consumption, and energy media such as gas, steam, waste heat and residual energy, water, electricity, and industrial gases. It is suitable for all manufacturing enterprises wishing to improve energy utilization efficiency.

The national zero-carbon factory policy is now in effect! United Zhiye provides precise support to help clients seize the initiative in their transformation.

Based on the strategic plan proposed by the headquarters, United Zhiye takes the upgrade of its product system as a key driver to build a three-tiered business structure—comprising “zero-carbon factory solutions + carbon-related products + integrated comprehensive services”—and thereby develop end-to-end service capabilities. The original enterprise’s integrated approach to low-carbon development has been upgraded to an integrated approach to zero-carbon development, which we regard as a milestone event. While the zero-carbon factory business focuses on deepening engagement in the manufacturing sector, the integrated approach to zero-carbon enterprise development transcends industry boundaries, extending its reach to the service sector and thus covering a broader scope of services.

For the first time, technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises have been included in the scope of tiered cultivation for high-quality SMEs.

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the latest revised "Administrative Measures for the Tiered Cultivation of High-Quality Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" (hereinafter referred to as the "Measures"), which have expanded the scope of cultivation by including technology-based SMEs in the tiered cultivation system for the first time. In the future, the tiered system for high-quality SMEs will encompass technology- and innovation-driven SMEs, specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative SMEs, and "Little Giant" enterprises that are specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative. The "Measures" will take effect from April 1, 2026.
