The three major ISO system certifications, what impact do they have on enterprises!!!

Qualification certification is something everyone has heard of, such as the four major systems (Quality Management System, Environmental Management System, Occupational Health and Safety Management System, Construction Quality Management System), intellectual property standardization, high-tech enterprise recognition, etc. These qualifications have been promoted in our country for many years, but few people truly value these certificates until they are needed.

Example: Losing a project due to ISO three systems
My company produces mechanical parts, mainly supplying shipyards. The main products include leak sealing tools, mooring equipment, navigation equipment, sailor tools, signaling devices, deck accessories, loading and unloading tools, and lifting gear.

In a recent bidding, the other party mentioned certification requirements for Quality Management System, Environmental Management System, and Occupational Health and Safety Management System in their bid documents, which I did not pay much attention to. First, because this is an old client and we have some relationship, this bidding was just a formality. Second, I believed the price could meet the requirements; third... never mind, you know!

The result was painful: we did not win the bid! Later, I found out the problem was in the company's qualification stage, specifically the lack of ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 certificates—the ISO three systems!

A profound lesson taught me the impact of qualification certificates on enterprises!

This is not an isolated case. Many companies lose bidding qualifications due to lack of corresponding qualifications, or because competitors have bonus qualifications such as corporate credit rating, corporate integrity management system, and contract-abiding and trustworthy reputation. These qualifications can add 3 to 5 points, and sometimes losing a project by just one point is a huge loss for the company.

ISO Three Systems Popularization
Nowadays, more and more bid documents require various qualifications. For example, in 2018, the state mentioned ISO9001 certification requirements in industries such as telecommunications, aviation, shipbuilding, construction, and food industries, where suppliers must have ISO three systems certification.

When the state reviews some exempted products, famous brand products, trustworthy quality products, AAA credit ratings, and other honors, ISO9001 certification is a prerequisite.

Also, for product import and export companies to obtain export permits, foreign customers generally require ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 certificates to prove product quality stability, pollution-free production processes, and protection of workers' rights.

Commonalities and Focus Areas of the Three Systems
ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 are all important components of comprehensive organizational management, each regulating organizational activities and behaviors from different perspectives.

As follows:

ISO9001 focuses on managing the quality of the organization's products;

ISO14001 emphasizes managing the organization's environmental factors (air, water, soil, ecosystems, public environment, etc.);

ISO45001 manages occupational health and safety within the organization (improving working conditions, eliminating accident hazards, controlling occupational risks, protecting workers' safety and health, etc.).

ISO Three Systems Application Conditions

Purpose of ISO Three Systems Certification

3. Obtaining ISO three systems certification has become a pass to break international green barriers and enter European and American markets, and gradually becomes one of the essential conditions for organizations to conduct production, business activities, and trade.

4. Optimize internal quality structure management, saving effort and costs in production service management audits across various processes.

5. Always maintain an invincible position in product quality competition, beneficial for international economic cooperation and technical exchanges.

6. Mandatory bonus points in bidding, striving for more development opportunities.

Benefits of ISO Three Systems Certification
1. Quality Management System: Stabilize service quality, reduce customer complaints, provide confidence to customers and potential customers, improve corporate reputation, and directly benefit market expansion.

2. Environmental Management System: Save energy and resources, reduce various management and loss costs; continuously meet emission standards, reduce pollution fees, improve efficiency, enhance market competitiveness, and contribute to environmental protection.

3. Occupational Health and Safety Management System: Enhance corporate image; strengthen company cohesion; reduce occupational safety and health risks in business operations, achieve sustainable business; improve internal management, avoid direct/indirect losses caused by occupational safety and health issues; fulfill international/social responsibilities; adapt to new trends in international trade, and break trade barriers.

The ISO three-system certification is a universal asset for enterprises. Bidding in various industries requires ISO three-system qualification certificates. If an enterprise has not applied for the ISO three-system certificate, it should apply as soon as possible to prepare for future needs. If you have any questions about handling the three-system certification, feel free to leave a message for discussion!

Based on the strategic plan proposed by the headquarters, United Zhiye takes the upgrade of its product system as a key driver to build a three-tiered business structure—comprising “zero-carbon factory solutions + carbon-related products + integrated comprehensive services”—and thereby develop end-to-end service capabilities. The original enterprise’s integrated approach to low-carbon development has been upgraded to an integrated approach to zero-carbon development, which we regard as a milestone event. While the zero-carbon factory business focuses on deepening engagement in the manufacturing sector, the integrated approach to zero-carbon enterprise development transcends industry boundaries, extending its reach to the service sector and thus covering a broader scope of services.
