The Inaugural Meeting of the Green Dual-Carbon Branch of the Technology Committee of Beijing United Wisdom Industry Group and the First Technical Exchange Conference Successfully Concluded

On July 3, 2022, the inaugural meeting and first technical exchange of the Green Dual-Carbon Subcommittee of the Technology Committee of Beijing United Zhiyie Group was successfully held in Beijing.

On that day, the guests arrived at the United Zhiyie Kaixuan City office area on time despite the rain. Around 3 p.m., the meeting officially commenced. Meng Yongge, Standing Member of the Executive Committee and Secretary-General of the Group's Technology Committee, solemnly introduced the attending leaders, guests, experts, and committee members. Secretary-General Meng extended a warm welcome and sincere thanks to the leaders and experts present, including Jing Xiaobo, former inspector of the Economic Operation Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Liu Shunjing, former Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Administration of Quality Supervision and Director of the United Zhiyie Fairness Committee; Chang Fang, former Director of the Retired Cadres Bureau of the State Administration of Work Safety; Jin Min, Professor at the School of Environment of Renmin University of China, member of the ISO/TC297 Waste Recycling and Transport Management Committee, and member of the Green Finance Special Committee of the China Green Supply Chain Alliance; Zheng Tingying, Executive Deputy Director of the Green Low-Carbon Industry Research Center of China Industry News, Visiting Researcher at the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China, and Vice Chairman of the International Dual-Carbon Industry Cooperation Alliance; as well as leaders and experts who could not attend but sent their regards and congratulations, including Duan Maosheng, Director of the China Carbon Market Research Center and Deputy Director of the Energy and Environment Economics Institute at Tsinghua University.

The attending guests first enjoyed the promotional video and slideshow introduction of Beijing United Zhiyie Group, gaining a clearer and deeper understanding of the group's overview, business composition, performance cases, and strategic cooperation.

Dr. Chen Yong, Chairman of Beijing United Zhiyie Group, warmly welcomed the leaders and experts via video link and congratulated the establishment of the Green Dual-Carbon Subcommittee of the Group's Technology Committee. Chairman Chen stated: "Science and technology are the primary productive forces of national development, and the operation of technology is also a core task of United Zhiyie itself. Shi Xinhua, member of the Executive Committee of Beijing United Zhiyie Group, Executive Director of the Group's Technology Committee Green Dual-Carbon Subcommittee, and Vice Chairman of Green Way, introduced United Zhiyie's outstanding achievements in the green dual-carbon field and made plans and prospects for the promising future of the Group's Technology Committee Green Dual-Carbon Subcommittee.

Zhang Xin, member of the Executive Committee of Beijing United Zhiyie Group and Deputy General Manager of Green Way, focused on introducing the main work content of the Green Dual-Carbon Subcommittee, providing targeted explanations on the subcommittee's active research and support for the promotion and integrated application of green dual-carbon related technologies, subcommittee projects and standard-setting work, and the various tasks of regular and irregular meetings.

Next, the leaders and guests presented the Beijing United Zhiyie Group Technology Committee Green Dual-Carbon Subcommittee membership certificates to committee members including Zheng Tingying, Jin Min, Xing Hongxia, Lu Dawei, Song Bin, and Chen Jiadan. Shi Xinhua, Zheng Tingying, and Duan Maosheng were appointed Executive Director and Deputy Directors of the Beijing United Zhiyie Group Technology Committee Green Dual-Carbon Subcommittee, respectively.

Next, with the anticipation of attendees, a teacher spoke very earnestly: "United Zhiyie has undertaken a large amount of social responsibility. As a company, this is not easy. You have helped the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission do a lot of work. The low-carbon business is booming, and setting up the Green Dual-Carbon Subcommittee is very correct."

"Today I will make three points: First, pollution reduction and carbon reduction must be coordinated and effective; these two cannot be carried out separately. Our many years of experience show these must be coordinated. A popular term locally is 'coupling.' In physics, we call it a 'coupled circuit,' meaning a synergistic force must be formed. Second, energy saving, carbon reduction, and greening must be combined with cost reduction and efficiency improvement. What benefits does this bring to enterprises and users? Efficiency here is not just energy efficiency but also economic benefit. Without cost reduction, efficiency cannot increase. It's like 'doctor seeking patient' versus 'patient seeking doctor'—opposites with substantial differences. Over the years, government departments and enterprises have done a lot of work. To illustrate, it's always the doctor seeking the patient. You don't pay for a checkup, and after it's done, you leave. If you have to pay, I won't see you; it's troublesome. Conversely, it's the patient seeking the hospital. Which hospital's growth isn't driven by patients seeking it? The principle is the same. Our 'energy saving and carbon reduction' must be combined with 'cost reduction and efficiency improvement.' Finally, energy saving and carbon reduction must be combined with environmental protection and must follow a market-oriented path, guided by market mechanisms.
