The new version of ISO9001 will be released with a delay

Recently, ISO/TC176 released the latest news that the new version of ISO 9001 is planned to be published in September 2026.
On September 26-27, 2024, ISO/TC 176/SC 2/WG 29 (the ISO 9001 revision working group under the Management Systems sub-technical committee) held its 7th meeting remotely via Zoom to continue addressing the remaining comments received during the committee draft stage. A total of 56 members participated over the two-day meeting, representing 31 national standards bodies and 5 liaison organizations.
The meeting proposed a revised project timeline. The standard development cycle has been extended to 36 months, including the second committee draft stage. The revised ISO 9001 is now planned to be published in September 2026. The next WG 29 meetings will be held in November and December, during which the content of the second committee draft will be finalized.
