The National Certification and Accreditation Administration issued the "General Implementation Rules for Product Carbon Footprint Labeling Certification (Trial)"

Recently, the National Certification and Accreditation Administration officially released the "General Implementation Rules for Product Carbon Footprint Label Certification (Trial)" (hereinafter referred to as the "General Implementation Rules") and the China Product Carbon Footprint Label. This is China's first systematic product carbon labeling certification system document. The release of this document marks a key breakthrough in establishing a nationwide unified product carbon labeling certification system.

The "General Implementation Rules" is an important technical document for carrying out product carbon footprint label certification activities. It clarifies key content such as the scope of certification, certification models, certification processes, label styles, and management requirements. It plays an important guiding role in standardizing product carbon footprint label certification activities. The main body of the China Product Carbon Footprint Label adopts a green tone and cleverly presents the concept of carbon footprint through a "footprint" pattern. The product carbon footprint quantification results are clearly presented in digital format, allowing consumers to intuitively and conveniently obtain the product's carbon emission information.

Establishing and implementing a unified product carbon footprint label certification system is of great significance for promoting the greening and low-carbon development of the economy and society. Through strict accounting and certification of product carbon footprints, it can effectively guide enterprises to strengthen awareness of energy conservation and emission reduction, promote green transformation of production methods, and significantly reduce carbon emissions throughout the product lifecycle, thereby injecting strong momentum into the green upgrading of China's industries.

The State Administration for Market Regulation will work with relevant departments to further strengthen work coordination and data sharing, guide pilot regions to steadily advance the pilot work of product carbon footprint label certification, form typical experiences that are distinctive, highlight features, replicable, and promotable, and serve the comprehensive green transformation of China's economic and social development.
