October 14 this year marks the 54th World Standards Day. United Intelligence Certification Company deeply practices the concept of standardization through its products and business, helping enterprises enhance their awareness of standardization and effectively playing the guiding and supporting role of standardization in high-quality development.
The Origin of World Standards Day
On October 14, 1946, representatives from 25 countries including China, the UK, and the US gathered in London and decided to establish an international organization "aimed at promoting international coordination and unification of industrial standards" — ISO. Later, to commemorate the founding of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), October 14 was designated as "World Standards Day," which has become a festival for standardization workers worldwide.
The World's Development Cannot Do Without Standards
Standards are a universal industry language. The emergence of standards has greatly improved quality and social operational efficiency. The operation of various departments within a successful organization relies on the empowerment of standards. Standards are everywhere in modern life; they are the world's language of trust. The world's development cannot do without standards, and a better life cannot do without standards.
China attaches great importance to the development of standardization. In October 2021, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the "National Standardization Development Outline," proposing that standards are the technical support for economic activities and social development and an important aspect of the country's fundamental system. Standardization plays a foundational and leading role in promoting the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity, and the Party's comprehensive leadership over standardization work must be upheld.
In July 2022, the "Action Plan for Implementing the National Standardization Development Outline" was issued, clarifying the need to "better play the foundational and leading role of standardization in promoting the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity."
