The Double Ninth Festival is a traditional Chinese folk festival, celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month each year. The number "nine" is a yang number in the I Ching, and "double nine" means two yang numbers together, hence the name "Double Ninth"; both the day and the month are the ninth.
